Product Description
Epoxidized Soybean Oil / ESBO
Epoxidized Soybean Oil ESBO

Properties

At normal temperature, Epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO) is a light yellow thick oily liquid. It solidifies when the temperature is under 5°C. It is soluble in hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, and higher alcohols, and slightly soluble in ethanol. It is the most widely-used epoxide plasticizer and PVC stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the primary use of Epoxidized Soybean Oil (ESBO)?
ESBO is mainly used as a secondary plasticizer and heat stabilizer for PVC products, providing excellent heat and light stability while improving flexibility.
Is ESBO safe for food contact materials?
Yes, ESBO is widely utilized in food-grade packaging materials due to its non-toxic properties and environmental protection standards.
What happens if ESBO is stored in low temperatures?
ESBO will begin to solidify when temperatures drop below 5°C. It is recommended to store it in a temperature-controlled environment to maintain its liquid state.
What are the available packaging sizes for bulk orders?
Standard packaging includes 200kg metal drums, 1000kg IBC tanks, and large-capacity flexitanks for bulk shipments.
How does ESBO compare to other plasticizers?
ESBO is an bio-based, eco-friendly alternative that offers better heat stabilizing properties and lower volatility compared to many traditional petroleum-based plasticizers.
